Dr. Elvin Price is an assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences (pharmacogenomics) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Elvin completed his Doctor of Pharmacy at Florida A&M University in 2004 and subsequently enrolled in PhD studies at the University of Florida. As a PhD student in the UF Center for Pharmacogenomics, Issam Zineh and Julie Johnson were his major advisors. After defending his dissertation, Elvin joined the faculty at UAMS in 2009. As a junior faculty member, he participated in the NIH NHLBI’s program to increase diversity among individuals engaged in health related research (PRIDE) where he completed additional training in cardiovascular genetic epidemiology at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine Division of Biostatistics. Elvin balances his research efforts with teaching requirements in the UAMS College of Pharmacy where he is a student favorite. Elvin is enthusiastic about fighting cardiovascular diseases and educating the next generation of practitioners and scientists.
