Harriet: A Conversation With God

Harriet Tubman

God: Trust me, my child. I’ll show you the way. Give me your hand, on the right path you’ll stay.

Harriet: Here is my hand and my listening ear. I’ll follow your path and keep you right here.

God: When you were 12, you tried to protect a man. I knew then, you could lead this land.

Harriet: The slave master ain’t have no regard. He abused everyone and hit me so hard.

God: The headaches and narcolepsy ain’t a mistake. They’ll help you see clearly as you lead the escapes.

Harriet:  Thank you God for who you are to me. Without you I’m blind, but with you I see.

God. Be brave in the war use your healing hand. Trust my direction and join the Christian band.

Harriet: I’ll go undercover and trick the Confeds. I’ll help all, black and white, who the war left for dead.

God: After your done, go help with the vote. Keep fighting for freedom, give speeches, use your voice.

Harriet: I’ll do just that ’til I can’t do no mo’. I’ll free more people when I use my voice.

God: Thank you, my child, for doing your best. Your reward is in heaven, Eternal Rest.

Harriet: Thank you, my God, for all you do. Keep my story alive. Dear God, I love you!

God: You’re like Moses and others before. Your story will live forever more.
